Our internal team at Deep End is growing!

Are you looking for a new role as an HR Consultant to combine your past HR Generalist, People Operations, and consulting skills? Do you bring a quirky balance of attention to detail and a love for building a plane in the air? If so, we invite you to consider joining our team as an HR Operations Consultant. We wear several hats for our team and our clients. One minute, you may update an Employee Handbook, the next answer a question about new exempt salary thresholds. You may be setting up interviews for hiring managers within one client's ATS system and creatively sourcing hard-to-fill candidates for another client using an entirely different system.

This role will grow into being our internal SME and lead on Gusto for our clients, who leverage preferred pricing on Gusto through us, as well as those who need/want us to process regular payroll for them and provide HR consulting and support services.

You would likely have fun working with our team and clients if these are true:

  • You like learning new things and tech solutions.
  • You enjoy style switching often and work at a highly efficient pace.
  • You appreciate schedule and work location flexibility but also like being camera-on to engage with people frequently throughout the day.
  • People are fun and fascinating to you; you enjoy learning about them as an individual.
  • You love to learn and keep up with industry trends, and you love to share what you learn with others.

  • Self-starter who works with minimal direction.
  • High confidence, low ego.
  • Tech-savvy- we use a lot of tools and tie them together for automation and sophistication.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Administer the Gusto payroll platform for clients.
  • Consult with businesses and internal team members to solve their people-related and HR tech challenges with unique solutions that meet their needs today and tomorrow.

  • Create handbooks, policies, procedures, forms, and automated workflows for compliance and streamlined HR operations.
  • Design recruiting strategies and execute campaigns utilizing various ATS systems and custom processes.
  • Proactively source candidates to fill critical openings for clients.
  • Assist in designing and delivering training programs and facilitating team building and strategic planning sessions.
  • Consult on benefits, compensation, and incentive program elements, trends, and best practices; effectively partner with benefit brokers and other service providers.

  • Participate in designing performance management programs and establishing automated workflows.
  • Represent Deep End at community and professional events at least monthly.
  • Author thought leadership articles or blogs and/or monthly Ask DETS recordings.
  • Actively listen to client questions and pain points to recommend additional services by Deep End and our key referral partners proactively.
